| Comments: | It takes a special person to take in horses no one else wants. I too rescue horses, just personally, not as a certified rescue, and commend you for your hard work and dedication. On a another note, I noticed your paragraph about your adjustable rate mortgage. I am a realtor who has dealt with many people in your situation. I would advise you to contact your lender and speak to the Loan Modification or Loss Mitigation Dept., make the person you speak to aware that the adjusted rate is a "hardship" and ask them to convert you to your old rate at a fixed 30 yr mortgage. They will say no 99 times; however, if you persist, they will work with you. Just a little advice from someone who deals with dozens of people in this situation. I wish you the best of luck. May have talked with you on one of the tractor forums, where I'm called "Old Mac Guy" . My friend "Timber" sent me an email about an Old Mac 1-41 chainsaw which you are offering for sale. You will most likely get more money from it if you offer it on eBay. It's best to have it running, if possible. Buyers pay more for a running chainsaw. You can most likely get $30-80 for it, + s&h, depending on its condition at time of sale and the buyer. Good luck with it. The problem is we need a horse that pretty much that is more less bomb proof and not easily scared or spooked. Most of the horses we have looked at that fits this catagory are in the $3000.00 & up price range. Which is far too much for us to afford at this time. I have a barn with 2 out building one of which has three horse stalls. Please let me know if you have any horses that would be good for my son. Thank you so much! Side note: My father helps out at a tiger rescue farm (kinda like your horse rescure farm). I am aware of all of the necessary upkeep and would like to say that it is folks like you that don't get enough attention for doing things like this. | Comments: | i dont have a coment but a question. how do you go about helping horses that are being neglected?there are 36 of them and the guy plans to send them all to slaughter if not sold by aug.some are in decent cond. but their feet are horrible and have cuts and sores that are going untreated on their legs and bodies,a couple are so thin that they will probably die if not taken out of there with foals at their side on top of it all.there are 2 studs in with a bunch of mares and they are being bred and inbred uncontrollably.we have done quite a bit of rescue ourselves and know horses well but we dont know the legal part of it or how to go about saving a large number like this.there are a couple we were interested in taking in but he will not negotiate his rediculous prices.any advice would help and be greatly appreciated.thank you |

I have friends that will come into a farm that is similar to yours and work the field with their old tractors. I don't know if they would come to Coleman but it is a possibility. They also have access to and might have equipment that they might let go inexpensively. I will do want I can to help. I brushhogged a horse farm a couple of years ago in Coleman with my 9N. |
